As Office Coordinator of the International Translation Center, Darlene is responsible for communicating with all the editors and translators that work in English and the different international fields. The Translation Center currently has over 50 contacts that are involved in one way or another. Darlene is responsible for keeping track of the progress of each individual translator and editor. As each transcript reaches the completion stage, it is sent back to Darlene, she makes the necessary changes and sends it for the next translation or edit. The Translation Center presently employs 30 editors and translators. Every manuscript goes through at least 5 English edits before translation, and then it goes through a professional linguist and another edit before it is ready to be printed. Before this process begins, Darlene is responsible for the first draft edit of each SIBI course. This involves taking the printed spoken transcript and putting it into a readable book format. During each stage she is responsible for keeping a hard copy and a disk on file of whatever stage the manuscript is going through on hand in the Translation Center.

Darlene is a 1995 graduate of Sunset School of Preaching (that was the last official SSOP class). Her husband, Larry, works for the Veterans Administration Clinic in Lubbock, TX. They have four daughters, three son-in-laws, and three grandsons. Before coming to Sunset, Larry and Darlene lived in Korea and Germany before Larry retired from the military. During that time they were both active in the AMEN (American Military Evangelizing Nations) program. She understands the language difficulties of being involved in an international program. Two of their daughters graduated from the Sunset AIM program. Both daughters worked in Chemintz, Germany for their mission time. One daughter returned to Sunset to graduate and recently graduated from David Lipscomb. One daughter served in Mexico as a missionary after AIM and is presently preparing to return to Mexico City with her husband and the newest grandson to begin the Sunset Advanced Mission Intern program. Their third daughter now lives in Guam with her family. Larry and Darlene still have one daughter living with them in Lubbock, TX.
